A new phage library to fight against bacterial leaf spot in lettuce

February 14, 2024

Among the projects dedicated to Agriculture, Greenphage has just finalised the establishment of a large collection of phages active against the bacterium Xanthomonas hortorum pv. vitians, the causal agent of bacterial leaf spot of lettuce. This precisely characterised phage library targets genetic diversity of the bacterial pathogen. It therefore represents a formidable tool for biological control against this pathogen, whose impact on crops is among the most significant in the world.

Greenphage is thus pursuing its commitment to developing innovative biocontrol strategies.
